String Theory Media is proud to announce a new partnership with the NCO, in which we will produce and manage the behind-the-scenes content for its new UNCOVERED project, which debuts this week.
Through Uncovered, fans worldwide can get an intimate look inside one of America's most innovative musical groups as it develops and stages its season. Through video, audio, documents and slideshows, Uncovered gives music lovers a chance to see so much more than the final performance (though we want you to see that too). It's a new kind of patronage, a new kind of record label, a new kind of documentary.
Watch the video, directed and edited by STM, and read more after the jump. Then visit the new NCO UNCOVERED blog for more information. I sincerely hope this helps a unique and important group build a new source of support in this new media economy. We'd appreciate it very much if you would pass the word about Uncovered to the music hounds in your life. Write me with questions. More after the jump...
Think of Uncovered, which will cost about $40 for a year of content and a CD or download, like purchasing a movie before the film gets made, then getting the DVD extras in real time during the making of the film. At the end, there will be a movie with your name on it that you will primed to appreciate. It might be the first online music offering to truly take advantage of all the web can do. And it will put you inside the action as the NCO works through the trials and issues of a putting on a year's worth of concerts.
Uncovered is powered by ArtistShare, a company dedicated to supporting artistry through a new kind of relationship with fans. In the ArtistShare model, fans pay a one-time up-front fee for a year of constantly updated and fresh content from inside the artist's work life. Subscribers will get regular e-mail updates, with links to hot new content. It might be an interview with a composer half way through the writing of a commissioned piece. It might be video from a rehearsal or a close-up profile of an orchestra member or guest soloist. There are remarkable stories and loads of musical information inside the NCO. You'll be glad to have them in your life.
